about us
A memorial fund since 1987
On Feb. 26, 1982, daughter and sister Ellen passed away from leukemia after several years of illness. She was 5 years old.
In 1987, in order to preserve her memory, her parents Pelle and Hélène established the Ellen Bachrach Memorial Fund. The family has since run the foundation and annually distributed grants for research in the field of blood diseases in children.
Following the death of Father Pelle in 2021, the family decided to expand the foundation's work with activities aimed at close relatives, make it easier to find for researchers and simplify the process of applying for grants.
Ellen Bachrach's memorial fund is still run by the family.
OUR MISSION
Our clients are children who have or have had a blood desease and their relatives.
We provide funding for research in all types of blood diseases in children and support projects that can provide an increased quality of life for these children and their kindred, during and after illness. Our work is to make it easy to apply for grants for research, find projects that want to develop the care of the children and their kindred, and be available for questions and ideas.
OUR VISION
More children will survive blood diseases.
We also want to see that children and their loved ones have an increased quality of life during and after illness.
